Can anyone ID this arcade game?
Back in the late 1990s, early 2000s there was an arcade at the leisure centre in Park Royal, Acton. For a short time, they had this really cool game that I was awesome at, but I've not seen it since...
The machine was a motion simulator with a fully enclosed cockpit pod, doors that sealed you in, screen was inside the cockpit. It had 2 seats, similar to the U2 Mirage simulator machines, but fitted with joysticks and things:

The game was a 2-player on-rails spaceship racing shoot-em-up type of game, like TurboFly, Wipeout HD, etc.
The player sat on the right was the pilot, the one on the left was the gunner.
Does anyone remember this or know what it was called?
Re: Can anyone ID this arcade game?
This is a U2 Mirage 2.5d machine, it was more a ride than interactive as such (the newer X2 has Rollercoaster etc on it). It has 6 games built into it that you can play through. What those games are I am not sure at all, never actually seen one in the wild ever!!

Maybe someone else will be able to list the 6 built in games
Just found one of the rides called Future City (bad quality but may help) :

Re: Can anyone ID this arcade game?
Yeah, they're rides rather than games.
But whatever machine it was, it was a similar form-factor... We didn't have camera phones back then, else I'd have taken pics.
Re: Can anyone ID this arcade game?
Might have been a Wipeout game... I seem to recall it was 1st person perspective, since we were actually inside a physical cockpit.
The machine looks like it was a red Thompson Ventura S2 Motion Simulator, as the inside layout looks about right. Even has armrests with slots for HOTAS stuff.
I just can't find a single example of any Wipeout game being in a full-cab motion simulator.

Whatever it is.. I want a Go on it!
Re: Can anyone ID this arcade game?
Finally found out - It was Wipeout 3.
Apparently the game generally tanked across all common platforms, which seems to be why this one vanished from the arcades... dammitt!!
Re: Can anyone ID this arcade game?
Yep, it will have been Wipeout. Went on one of these with my girlfriend in Meadowhall Sheffield. Was a pro at Wipeout on Playstation but this was just ridiculously hard and I ended up looking like a noob.
