Only problem is, the guy is on jobseekers.. and not got much money anyway.

I like the idea of building him one from scratch. but isn't there something missing from all that lot. like a processor cooler, dvd drive and possibly fans?

all costs more and more. the specs are better part from the gpu.

To be brutally honest, if you're the system builder, I'd expect you to know that the CPU comes with a fan and heatsink already included...
The case comes with a 120mm front fan and you can pick more up, brand new, for as little as £2.
Asus DVD drives are a tenner new, or even cheaper 2nd hand...

The CPU appears to be a retail package and would therefore come with the stock cooler. Presumably he does't need a DVD drive, otherwise he wouldn't have sold it. If he does need one you can get them dirt cheap (~£10) but I would ask him why he needs it first. I haven't got one in my computer (in fact, my case doesn't have a slot for one!) and I have never needed one. Between Steam and being able to install Windows from a USB I've not needed one in years.

Regarding fans, I don't suppose any components you will choose are going to dump that much heat into the case, but the single front 120mm intake should suffice for the build spec'd up for you. If you want to, add an additional front intake later on (keep more air being pushed into the case than being pulled out, keeps the positive pressure in the case and

No,it comes to £276. The system comes with a front intake fan. Also the system you were suggesting before is made of parts with no warranty and with a dodgy motherboard. If it fails after a month or two, your mate will need to find a replacement out of their pocket.

The build I suggested at least has some degree of warranty - three months on the motherboard and at least 12 months on all the other parts.

Anyway, some of those parts are on limited offer,ie,the RAM and the graphics card - you will need to make a decision today otherwise the RAM will go up in price and somebody might buy that graphics card.

I don't use part picker - I go direct to the websites. Sadly you waited too long for the RAM promo, and its ended so I need to look elsewhere for the RAM - like I said you need to be quick on these deals,as prices can change daily.

Amazon is temporarily out of stock but will honour the price,so the bits off Amazon are:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CP-...%2Bsupply&th=1
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CL1...words=8gb+ddr4

The price for both parts is the cheapest in the UK by a decent margin. The parts from Amazon come to £176.23 including free delivery.

    The parts off Novatech are:

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/c...h110m-s2h.html
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/c...ov-stelth.html

I didn't account for the £2.39 delivery charge since the order is under £50 so it comes to £38.58 including economy delivery.

The graphics card is £67.76 including free delivery:

    https://www.cclonline.com/product/21...cMyPzYyDpAUUIw

The total is £282.57 now(mostly down to the RAM offer ending).

Re: Trying to Help a Friend

Regarding graphics cards,I looked around for any faster cards within your budget - there are none sadly. There is the R7 360 2GB,which has double the VRAM of the R7 260X for around £82,but has a slower core than the R7 260X(less shaders). If you want to get a decent upgrade, the RX460 2GB and GTX750TI 2GB will be around £93 to £100,so ypu will be going past £300.

However,on Ebay this seller is selling refurbished Asus R7 370 2GB for around £85 with a 12 month warranty:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Asus-Radeo...XyZd6#viTabs_0

The total will come to £299.90 if you buy the R7 370.

The R7 370 is basically a rejigged HD7850 and is faster than a GTX750TI and generally ahead of the RX460.

i have created a pcpartpicker. of what i need.. but.. have not got or may not be going for most of the stuff on there.

The 2 SSD's on there i am unsure of.
    and the GPU.
The CPU, either one will do. as one of his games requires quad as a minimum spec.

Is that for you or your friend?? I thought he had a £300 budget - the parts list you linked to is nearly £500!

This is roughly what his getting.

The processor.. will have a few Free Gift Cards.. thanks to Donations.. as we are waiting for them..

Should take roughly £30 burden off our backs

We may or may not get the same case. as we need one with a dvd drive. to install window 10.. unless they have that thing working for usb drive with the mobo..

The Graphics.. will work on the OnBoard Graphics.. for what he wants it to do (For now)

We are Unsure on what Cooler to buy.. cheap one.. any suggestions?

Good to hear he managed to get a higher budget now - you should have gone for the Corsair CX550M I suggested. The CX600M is actually an older design, whereas the latest CXM series is actually a more up to date model.

The current PSU should be fine.
As I got it for £39.98 from scan (Refurbished)
    -
Only thing I am concerning about is the motherboard. As it doesn't come with DVD or Sata 3 (6) cables.

Where would I get the right ones from and cheap.
    -
As to the budget increase I have found a way to get free cash..
Called SwagBucks. And earn Amazon or PayPal Gift Cards.
Managed to get up to £40 and should be able to get a little more.

I am doing your build but, with a little Compatibility Twist.

I cannot wait to Show everyone on here the complete build via Photos and a YouTube Video.

But yes that is bothering me as I personally haven't built a PC from scratch before.

I usually have 3XS to do it for me.
-Plus to what Cooler to get for the Processor. I personally would think a H100i but, thats me, but his budget is very limited. Any suggestions.-
