    Resident Evil Biohazard

Anyone else picked this up? I've got it on PC today..initial impressions are really good.

Graphically one of the best i've seen in recent months, and I am only an hour in but genuinely the most scared i've been playing a game in years. It's frigging terrifying!

Seems a return to form for the series and it's survived the transition to first person really, really well.

I am a long time RE fan but having none of the RE guys or gals is a letdown. Going FPS is also a let down. They won't be getting my money for sure.

    re: Resident Evil Biohazard

If you are a long time RE fan then I'd say this is probably the right sort of game for you tbh - its the closest in feel to the first and second Re games (i.e. the best of the series) than any since. The move to FPS really enhances the game's scariness/atmosphere - gone are the dodgy camera angles that either show too little or too much.

It feels very much like the first game - plenty of puzzle solving, inventory management etc with just enough action to keep your interest, but not too much like the past 3.

The only thing that lets it down (other than being impossible to play at night in the dark ) is the near invulnerable "family" that chase you round when you are trying to solve some of the puzzles - it enhances the scary nature but as you can't kill/stop them it just becomes annoying after a while.

Still, definitely the best RE game I have played in years

I think there is a demo for this game too - worth giving it a shot if you are a RE fan.

    re: Resident Evil Biohazard

After seeing a few reviews and user accounts of people soiling themselves, it looks great. I'll definitely get it with PSVR later in the year.

Play it once and sleep with the lights on for a month.

    re: Resident Evil Biohazard

I read on a review that the VR feature is 80% of the experience, I would have thought there would be a bundle offering with PSVR at some point and Oculus Rift/Vive etc to soften the blow of going for VR. Considering the reviews though, it's probably worth getting anyway and maybe replay it at some point in the future with VR.

No, once they release all DLC and unlock VR for PC, then I will buy it at a bargain price.

Not going to throw money at companies who do 12 month exclusivity lockouts.

Shame they made it as a FPS, I tend to get nauseous with FPS games. Prefer third person view games.

Sadly, same here. I usually get a headache after about an hour of FPS, maybe 2-hours if lucky. That said, even though I'd like to brave a headache to try this out, my tolerance for gore/horror has *drastically* dropped over the years. I'd only buy this if I had a cousin/family/friend play along- otherwise, there's no chance LOL.

I like sleeping well, thank you
