    My ratpad

    Hello all,

I've got a ratpad, but it seems to have worn down a fair bit. Is there anything I can do to revive it??

I'm using it with a MX700 Logitech mouse, which is top notch.

If not, what mousemate would you recommend replacing the ratpad with?

Replace it, they were crap anyway.

Ive got a similar mat atm (speedpad - which I think is a lot better aswell), but ill eventally get a black icemat I think, They look like they would be nice to use a mouse on.

Theres also the func 1030 mats, suppost to be the best.. I think alienware were selling them for £14 inc (shipped from the US).

Also if you have a look in game - last time I went in they had what looked like a func 1030 clone and it was quite cheap.. might be worth a try.

There is nothing you can actually do to revive it apart from buy another one. I have never found any problems with the standard mat that came with my machine to be honsest!

Yes there is, get some Mouse Skatez. Other than that, buy a new pad. I recommend an Ice Mat 2. Find my review here.. func mats are pretty darn good too, but having used both I would still go with the Ice Mat 2 by a small margin.

Go get an IceMat . Their great. i personally think that the IceMat2 is over priced but you can still get the smaller version 1 for roughly half the price from overclock.co.uk and their still bigger than a conventional mouse mat. I cant compare them to Radpads cos ive never used one but i do know that the Icemat is supurb.

yes but it still takes a month as its shipped form the US? If not, I may order one..

Annoying think about func's is that thye are easly damaged. My brothers had part of it get squashed in the post.. Id rather have something solid, and preferably slightly cold -like metal or glass.. instead of plastic.. Ihate plastic

Wheres the best place for this Icemat then? £25 sounds a bit steep though... :/

I heard about a steelpad, is that anygood? I wonder if it's possible to make your own mousemat out of a slab of glass, with black underneath?

glass with black paint try it

can't see my icemat wearing out anytime soon tho, so £25 for lifetime use isnt so bad after all, and cleaning them is... like cleaning a sheet of glass!

i use a ratpadz gs, may not last as long as the ice mat but for around £6 on tekheads you cant really complain its a great improvement on a normal pad.

I bought the Alienware fUnc mat.Took a few days to come and was in perfect condition. The only difference between the alienware one and the £30 one is the lack of a metal box and the Alienware slogan on the mat. Apart from that it is exactly the same and at the price (Alienware.co.uk Gear Shop) it's an absolute bargain.

As i said Overclock sell the original version for 15 quid. Thier delivery is a bit steep though. If you think about it people pay over £25 quid for the latest games and their completed within a mater of weeks even days. A mouse mat costing as much as the Icepads will far out last any game.

The original is the same size an an A4 peice of paper with roughly 2 inches cut off one end of the peice of paper (if looking at it in landscape)
