Yup, it's big, but it sure is purdy to look at when you get it.

As has already been mentioned, the 6800ultra is the first card to get this engine running at 10+ FPS. Although it's not due to be released for another year so it'll be at least another generation of GPU, before we see a game with it.

That image is pretty old now and yes i must admit its ok to look at. I saw that on the Unreal Technologies website, maybe you got it from there?

I would NOT like to see that poping out of a dark corner at me, or from anywhere else for that matter. I can see it getting to a stage where games will be banned because their too gory.

We just approaching the stage where when you kill something in a game it is looking fairly real. Once the next step is taken it is gonna look really crazy. I don't think it will be banned. Theres too much money to be made.

Games already have an age certificate - just like films. I know it's difficult to enforce, but as long as the gory ones are certificate 15 and above I can't see a problem. if you look at it like a film, which we have to now boundaries are blurring and technologies are moving closer together, a film has to be pretty bad before it gets banned.

If it isnt Unreal 3, I wonder if it is actually from a game thats being put together on the engine that has had no info released about it yet.

They (Epic Games) are creating a game that is 'not in the Unreal universe' based on Unreal Engine 3, and they have released not released any real details of it yet.

it'll be like watching a slide show on the highest-end card you can get!! wtf?!

now, will we see the huge build-up we saw with HL2 and doom3 with this I wonder? given the quality of gfx perhaps yes...it certainly beats doom and hl by quite a significant margin.
