    HL2 deathmatch/Source engine updates

    This from Valve:

One feature that we'll be adding to the Source engine in the coming months is high dynamic range lighting. To showcase this we've taken a part of the Highway 17 chapter of Half-Life 2 and worked it into a single level that incorporates HDR along with some new gameplay. We're calling this short level "The Lost Coast," and it will be made available free of charge to Half-Life 2 customers that meet a specific set of high end hardware requirements. We'll be publishing those requirements soon.
Anyone know what these requirements are? Are Valve really going to control the distribution of a level? What is high range dynamic lighting anyway?

Also, does anyone have screenies of the new deathmatch weapons?

Yeah, and my wallet's too small for all my fifties, and my diamond shoes are too tight!

(I don't rip off Friends quotes... much)

Anyway, I was asking if anyone knows what Valve are on about? And when are we going to get those damn competition maps?

The high end requirements I'm guessing will mean Geforce6/Radeon X800 video cards.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

    CLICKY

Sorry for the crosspost, but I originally put the link in the 'display' forums cos of the HDR lighting shinyness, rather than for the fact that it was a new level to HL2..

Hope it's not old news.. Enjoy..

Not sure what to expect from this new level. I'm half expecting my system to be too slow and half not.
