    ut2004

after being told it was out of stock from where i ordered it I got a 'order dispatched' email just a minute ago...so I'll be cranking up the detail and fa/aa/and all the rest of it (never understand all the abreviations, I just know it all looks nice ) and blasting away happily on my new computer. yay!

6600GT should be able to handle prtty much anything I throw at it, if not just drop the settings a touch. Just so I know - cause I've not ever done it before - are the settings adjusted in game or via settings tab on desktop (winXPpro)...?

If you go to your display properties> settings> advanced GeForce 6600gt>performance and quality> all the options are in there. Set it to application controlled to set it in each seperate game (some do let you some don't) or set it in the CP to make it apply to each game.

I had my UT2004 re-despatched today along with FarCry. The first time i got it (thats UT) they gave me a CD key for Unreal. So i couldnt install it. With any luck they'll send one with the proper key now.

That would be play.com. Only problem ive had from there. Well technically its not their fault since they dont deal with serial numbers, they just get the product and sell them on. Im hoping it will come tomorrow now, along with FarCry.

ah yes, heard a few stories from peeps about play.com and the strange persistance of there being no/used registration codes on many software titles they sell. perhaps its calmed down a bit. perhaps not...

wen i bought ut2004 in the shop, the guy took it out of its wrapping and put his grubby fingers prints all over it to chek if it had a serial inside as many ppl didn't have one.

    woohoo! its arrived!!
going to be flexing it up tonight!

one thing, is it possible not to have the disc in the drive as I play like the original UT? cause after a brief scan of the instructions it looks like I need it in...which means rach over to shelf, open disc tray, close disc tray, wait for disc to spin up, wait for auto-start, then go *sigh*...
instead of, click icon and go.
not that I'm condoning illegal hacks or anything but just for conveinience sake - also means that disc is less likely to get damaged if it lives in its box rather than in/out/in/out...(shake it all about!)...all the time.

p.s. not all hacking is illegal, its just the only hacking we hear about most of the time is because some muppet has done something illegal...!

Get the latest patch and you do not need the cd.
