No, Ive never been much into computer gaming (always found RL far more exciting) and that hasn't changed as I have got older.

Expanding on my earlier comnents, my gaming tastes haven't changed much with my age, but they sure have evolved as gaming evolved.
I mean, my 'gaming' started with Battleships and text-based Dungeons and Dragons type games, on mainframes, in the 60's, and I was one of those early-adopters of micro-based gaming with Apple II's, like wire-frame Wizardry.
I've gamed through the development of FPS, RTS, sports games, 'out-there' stuff like Myst, sims, platform games, comedy 'adventure' games like good 'ol Leisure Suit Larry and Guybrush Threepwood, and so on.
About the only area above I'm not into is sports games, except the odd car-racing (and I mean racing sim, not GTA, etc) and especially motorbike racing.
What I haven't evolved into is online gaming. Oh, I dabbled but, well, not for me except for the occasional private session with friends.
The other area where gaming evolution left me behind was the modern emphasis on ever more detailed and realistic graphics, which not only seems to require collossal amounts of power and stupendously expensive graphics cards, but often seems to be done at the expense of character and/or game play.
So .... my tastes expanded as what was available expanded .... but only up to a point.
And then, of course, as (for reasons explained numerous times in the past) I will not use Steam, never have and never will, that locks me out of many modern games anyway.
But my gaming tastes haven't changed - I still like a huge variety, and what type of game, rather like what type of music, depends on my mood.

Moved towards playing a lot more single player or co-op multiplayer games as compared to 10 years ago when I would spend ages on competitive multiplayer game like Call of Duty or FIFA.
Just don't enjoy them as much anymore and don't have the time that's required to be good at them. Single player/ story driven experiences where you can take your time is a lot more manageable these days.

Although I started gaming on a ZX81 (Meteors) my favourite type of game has been First Person Shooters, since Quake until now (Battlefield 5)
I don't put the same hours into it as I used to, and the muscle memory has diminished slightly - but I still get a buzz from a 10 kill streak ;-)
Wise old man won't you help me please? My house is a squash and a squeeze.
I enjoy the 10 kill streaks, however I am the one normally being killed

its quite a good thread this.. been around a long time,
As I get odler, and more grumpy, I start to enjoy honing and perfecting certain things. I'd rather finish something before moving on. This makes gaing very cheap as it' nigh on blummin impossible to finish most games with the skill's I lack and the time I have.
However... having said that, I find I need more and more lonine competition from real peopel and less from AI.
Because I'm not fast enough to play shooters well and don't have the time to get better, I am enjoying Minion Master still after 2 + years.
I cant get to the ultimate levels but I have hit Master a few months and I always make Diamond. It's a game that challenges me and changes monthly. It's definately my "thing" at the moment,
I also enjoyed Subnautica a LOT! Once again it was about planning and timing.

I absolutely love first person shooters but my reflexes are just not what they used to be and find myself cannon fodder these days

I used to play the auction house over breakfast, buying mats and crafting things to sell. Heirloom items killed it. Then they try and force me into raids to progress. Gave up halfway through the previous expansion, not even played the current one.
To be honest, I get a lot more stuff done without that timesink in my life.

Sorta. I used to play a lot of RPGs and FPS games, kinda went stale on FPS, save for 2016 Doom, but that's run its course as well. Still love isometric RPGs, and thankfully there's been a resurgence of development of them.
The main game I really love now is Kerbal Space Program, owing to it being a rather fun approximation of real rocket science and orbital mechanics, and the fact that they've been constantly adding to it over the years has just extended its replayability factor.
Yeah, I'm not even that old and I feel what you're saying. Back in 2015, I competed in almost all the major MOBAs. Now, I mainly play singleplayer titles and an occassional game of Gwent.
At this point in my life at the age of 46 I am going back to what I loved the most and that was true sports simulation games. When I was 11 to into my teens I played MicroLeague Baseball religiously on the C64 and now after buying game after game for a few years and season download after season download I am playing something similar called Dave Koch Sports Action! PC Baseball. I have tried other games that are similar too including more than 1 I bought off Steam. There are also many free to play baseball sims out there.
Still ... with what I just said ... I find that I play all sorts of games that I have played over the years as I need variety. Also with many games I got behind on my backlog4life because I went through a long period of time where I played nothing really as I was afraid to play MPer or even single player after being called a bad for so long in various games. I learned to let go of that and for 3 years or maybe more now I enjoy what I play and it has become more fun as I stream what I play at times.
Finally I will say I wish I wasn't a bad gamer as I would get through games or get through them quicker. Still though at least I try harder to get through games than in the past. Nice to have fun even just trying and I finally decided if I had to I would play them on the easiest of settings now instead of normal / default. Why get frustrated without trying it at a level you may be more suited to eh?
Anyway happy gaming every1!
.. and back to playing more of my baseball sim.
I hope talking about this is allowed but..
I haven't been playing any new games for the last month at least, I have been going back to my childhood playing SNES, Megadrive, Amiga emulators using RetroArch and Mgalaxy as a frontend.
Its been a lot of fun going back into Retro land, at the moment i do not want to leave.
(Quick disclaimer, I know when talking about emulators you must own the games)
I also used GameEx arcade that is amazing but fiddly and hard to set up and wont let you use RetroArch with it sadly.

Yes, definitely! When I was younger I was usually playing online multiplayer games. Now as an adult I have time and desire only for story games

I don't think my tastes have changed but I'm really picky about what games I give time to now, I'm 38 now and for me the best gaming memories are from 95 to 2006 and I still play more games from that period than modern titles.
I still love FPS and Racing games, also enjoy exploring games but Always go back to the original Tom Raiders 1,2,3.
Recently I've started Death Trap Dungeon on the PS1. The game gets a bad rap but I'm enjoying it so far.
