Games to Co Op with your 10 year old
Lo people
Zak Jr and I are co-opping through Quake 2.
It's gotta be one of the finest father/son combo's I've found so far. Clearly Q2 is a classic, and clearly it is old. But it also plays beautifully and scales well on bog standard kit. It's still hard, it's still dizzyingly complex in places, and we both get utterly lost sometimes.. but ...
it
is
splendid.
If you still have Q2, install it on two pc's and get it on the network.

I did some Minecraft with the kids in the past, but they outgrew me :)
My eldest is getting into World of Warcraft, might have to restart my sub.
Re: Games to Co Op with your 10 year old
Once you're done with Q2, the Serious Sam games are always a good co-op standby.
Re: Games to Co Op with your 10 year old
Minecraft I attempt with him, but he's a legend at it and I'm just not.
Serious Sam is a good call :)
Re: Games to Co Op with your 10 year old
Portal 2 is a lot of fun, and has quite a nice element of problem solving. It's also often available at a cheaper price during the Steam sale :)
Re: Games to Co Op with your 10 year old
oooh god one Jim :)
Portal 2 is a great call.

Borderlands 2 & Pre Sequel are both split screen Co Op, they are 18 cert so would check them out first for violence level (they are quiite cartooney in all honesty). On PC you will have a right mess about (it is possible) but on PS4 you can just jump in and out without any messing, the Handsome Collection has 2 & Pre Sequel in it.

Cuphead is 2 player co op on PC, bear in mind though it is tough as nails and the difficulty could put you off :

Divinity Original Sin is local Co Op if you want a slower paced RPG, not split screen as there are always 2 characters onscreen and you work together in combat and exploration :

Gauntlet is also local Co Op if you like dungeon crawlers (it ios a remake of the 80's classic arcade game :

Trine trilogy :

Sonic & Allstars Racing Transformed :

Like I said above, some of those are 18 cert so would check them out before commiting to it

If you don't mind shooting things, 'Orcs Must Die 2' and 'Orcs Must Die Unchained' are both good fun, the latter is free to play. Cartoon-like graphics, and quite challenging at the higher levels.
Re: Games to Co Op with your 10 year old
Rocket league might be an idea.
Re: Games to Co Op with your 10 year old
Can't go wrong with Borderlands 2.

I 2nd this, esp the first.
There's also a fun way to play it, give yourselves unlimited respawns and max out the enemy count, because it's on co-op the levels don't reset with your death, so you can grind your way through.
here's an odd ball for you, starcraft 2 co-op, it's also free I seem to remember

Virtua Cop 2
Time Crisis 2 & 3
007 : Everything or nothing co-op missions

Most of the Lego games are co op, both local and online, and are great fun to play!
