    Chronicles of Riddick... low FPS...

so I just got this game and I'm running it at 1600 by 1200 with no AA and 4 AF... I get 45 to 55 fps. Has anyone else noticed how taxing this game is? I mean come on! I have a 6800 ultra and a AMD 3500 pluse 1 gig of ddr 3700... I aint even running the game at PS 2.0++ Instead I'm using 2.0.... Also what do you think of it? So far I find the game well worth its price, more so then Doom 3!

I wouldn't have thought it'd be a match for your 6800 Ultra, so if that is causing the slowdown, I'd be extremely surprised. Its more likely a processor or RAM bottleneck.

If you'd post your specs, that'd help.

It makes me laugh how your thread title is "low FPS"!!!

Seriously, Ive just got it too and it is a bit taxing on my system too, but isnt what youre getting - in terms of fps - enough to play with? Should be smooth right? Or is the thread for wondering why your hardware isnt using its full potential?

You could try a lower res, say 1280 x 1024 and crank AA up a bit, to see if you can utilise all the mem on your 6800U but apart from that i've found that there isnt the most configurable engine etc - but that comes from being a console port.

btw if you dont want the 6800U because its 'slow' then I recommend that you go get an X850 XL or something and then...sell the 6800 to me!!!
