Question Setting up a permament gaming server

I don't know about my contract but ome ADSL companies understandably don't like people hosting websites at home otherwise it eats up bandwidth. Again I don't know about my broadband but even if one's router is permamently connected I was told one's ISP dishes out new IPs every so often. If one starts up a gaming server, is the only way to have a static IP?

    Thanks
    Matt

download the auto updater aswell, it gives you a option dynamic address hat you can choose for instance mine is daymonkey.homelinux.net, which updates the ip every so often (automatically if you ownload the updater) so that its up to date.

Yeah, most broadband providers allow you to have a static IP address.

I used that Dyn DNS program, or something like it, back when i was on 56k to run my mail server
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
