Valhalla Hills (available Steam & GOG for PC and also on PS4) could be right up your street, each map is randomly generated also making it have endless hours of playability

Settlers was one gem of a game of its time there is no game can be compared with it but I can recommend you to go for Stronghold series game is old but filled with many attractive elements.

I never played it, but Banished always reminded me of Settlers, single player, and it's recommended on Steam.

I've got it. A lovely game if brutally hard for beginners. Once you crack it it's quite a soothing experience though. Population management is key. You don't want too many extra mouths to feed all at once (especially over winter!) Or so few that your population ages too much.

It really is, though there is a wealth of mods available - many, I believe, can remove a bit of that initial learning curve whilst maintaining a good amount of interest. Interested to see other suggestions!

Try Rimworld. It is somewhat similar, although can get quite hard at some points.

Frostpunk is a slightly different take on this genre - definitely tough though.
