Discord microphone not working? Windows 10

Are you trying to use Discord but the Microphone is just not responding? me too....

you know the mic works, right? Because you can hear yourself when you activate that in your sound card

And you have tested it with an online mic checker too https://www.onlinemictest.com/

But still... utter silence.

You've set Push to Talk in Discord, and you and your mates can see your name light up everytime you click it...

It's Windows 10 Privacy mode protecting your mic from Apps.

• Click the Windows logo, bottom left of your desktop, and type PRIVACY, and choose Privacy Settings.
• On the left, click Microphone
• Look for "Allow Apps to Access your Microphone" and turn it on.

and that's it

Problem solved.

Now.. remember where that was and make your own privacy selections on the other stuff on your PC

Went through this too, Discord support suggested it and now have it in their FAQs.

It's a change since 1803, previous versions didnt apply the privacy to non-Store apps.

I would assume that the same thing applies to webcams.

Thanks for the headsup, I still haven't made the jump to 1803 but it's a good thing to know for the future, i would have pulled my hair out trying to fix this.
