    PS2 Games...

Right then you little clutch of semi-informed sub-oids, following the resignation of the entire Lebanese government, I thought - time to get a Playstation II then, really. Probably unrealted, but there we are.

Why a Playstation II I hear you scream, like a drunk, agressive tramp... well, I don't want a Cube as I sold my one ages ago, and the Xbox seems a little dead in the water at the mo, whilst the PS2 seems to be flying. Tekken 5, Gran Turison 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, etc. Also, I just want something to have the odd blast on when I feel like it, if I wanted a proper machine, I'd get another Cube or a gaming PC.

So, apart from the mentioned, what should I pick up for the small black thing?

    Ta.

San andreas, Timesplitters 2, pro evoloution soccer and tony hawks underground are all decent enough pick up and play games.

Yep, I'd second Timesplitters 2, consider SSX 3, its going on the cheap now too. I got Soul Caliber 2 for the princely sum of £7.99 from Game, that's always good for a quick blast too.

the only game i find that really makes a ps2 something to buy would be san andreas. but, it is coming out on xbox in a couple of months, so i'm just gonna wait for it then. my suggestion: wait 9 or 10 months and get one of the new consoles whenever they come out. personally i would go with the xbox 2, but they all look pretty good at the moment

Ah, Timesplitters 2... played tha tto death on my Cube, almost finished the game on Hard (which is, for those that haven't played it Super Ninja Hard) but couldn't do that last bit of the last level. Still have nightmares about the AtomSmasher.

If you're planning on getting the boys round for a few games, then you NEED Pro Evolution Soccer 4. Nothing else will suffice.
A beat 'em up and Arcade style driving game will always keep you entertained too. [Tekken 5 out soonish, and Burnout 3 is a winner]

As for lonesome gaming... GTA: San Andreas is hard to beat. or you could pick up Vice City cheaper, and it's just as good... just not as huge!

if i were you, i wouldnt get any new games. i'd pick up a WHOLE bunch of old ones. san andreas isnt much better than the origional 1 or 2, so get them instead. pro evo is apparently not much better than 3, so get 3. get gran turismo, and xiii. ssx3 isnt miles better than 1. and so on and so forth. newer != better

ssx3 isn't miles better than 1? U must be joking. For a laugh play ssx1, for good gaming play ssx3.
