There is a new game called X4 Foundations on steam that is coming out on the 30th November. I was wondering how many on this forum are interested?

I've been a fan of the X series for a while, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Rebirth was a bit of a mess and I barely touched it. Didn't even know X4 was on the way end of this month.
It sounds like a reboot of rebirth - Vulkan version of their 3d engine with bugs ironed out, fixing the UI hopefully, and can finally change ships again. I'll wait and see what the reviews are like. And I mostly use Linux anyway so will have to wait for the port.
Yeah, I'm interested but cautious.
Very interested, I've put countless hours into X2 and then the 3 X3 games. I won't be pre-ordering though after the mess that was X:Rebirth - Steam says I've played it for 24hours, which is a tiny fraction of what I've played the previous games for. If reviews are good then I'll probably pick X4 up a week or 2 after release.
X3 didn't really do much for me, will wait for the reviews before going for X4.

I bought X4 on release. Huge learning curve. The game gives you no direction and the controls are horrible. It's supposed to have HOTAS support, which is very basic I discovered. Seems to be directional only, no speed control that I could get working.
I will go back to it when I have the time to invest in learning and configuring it!
I have about 30 hours in it so far. Pretty similar to the previous X games. The learning curve isn't that big. Like most things once you get used to it its only a few buttons. I spend most of the time on the map sorting out my economy/factories.
The tutorial is a joke and needs a complete overhaul. There are various bugs and glitches.
I would wait until 2.0 is out and have it a look at it then.
