    Back to number 3!

Was actually my least favourite expansion - aside from some nice scenery, racing on hot wheels style tracks isn't so much fun.

No indeed, but apparently you can create your own tracks. I haven't played the previous one so not sure if you could do that previously

No you couldn't in 3. FH5 has a lot of track creation stuff - people have already done hot wheels style courses, though this will greatly add to the palette of ramps/loops etc. I'm sure.

Quite looking forward to this. I enjoyed the HWs expansion for 3 (managed to grab it weeks before it got withdrawn from sale). Be good to see whats new though. It looks similar to 3 but not identical.

Digital Foundry spotted that ray-traced reflections seem to be in the video - it's always had them in the showroom but not in the open world before (so slightly spoiling the announcement about Forza Motorsport making a big thing of them )

Re: Forza Horizon 5 First Expansion Revealed

    Well, it's out

Only had a quick play so far. It's certainly better than the previous hot wheels expansion (for FH3) - the biomes are visually lush and there are a few environment related special bits of track (like ice covered track, flowing water/log-flume etc.). It very like playing in a theme park but with cars.

Racing wise there's a bit of scope for the odd corner so occasionally you can make a difference, but for the most part it's enjoying the ride rather than feeling all that involved. Must be great in VR though!

The main game got Extreme E stuff this week too, which is a pretty good freebie even if they don't seem anything like as fun as they do on TV - they're much quieter in game, even compared to other electric cars, and they similarly if they are wheelspinning (yes, TC is off) it's not noticeable - instead they just seem to gracefully pick up speed. Might still be some bugs as I've noticed a few have slipped in this week.

I'm tempted with the game just for the Extreme-E side of things seeing I have actual experience in how they sound and what they look like close up

I'm not jealous in the slightest...

The models look fantastic.. but you'll be disappointed in the lack of scrabbling.

The cars are fun, when they work, the new suspension seems to make them a lot more drivable, but, they're electric and French and I'm sure there was something that used to be said about the electrics in french cars, so an electric french car was always going to be problematic lol

I have been playing the Hot Wheels expansion last few days. Already up the X class. It's ok, bit of fun.

Re: Forza Horizon 5 First Expansion Revealed

I have found it ok to be honest, nothing amazing, bit of fun which of course it is. Can't really say much more about it. I have had Forza 3 so don't know what the Hot Wheels expansion was like in that

Re: Forza Horizon 5 First Expansion Revealed

This makes me wonder why Hot Wheels bothered to bring out Unleashed?

Having compared this to the Hot Wheels Unleashed game, this looks by far superior and tonnes more content in the process.

Thankfully I held off from buying Unleashed, the online gameplay videos make the game feel lacking. I'd have expected them to do something like Mario Kart Home Circuit or whatever it's called.
