    HL2 online Qs !

    Hi

Can someone please help me! Just started playing HL2 and i want to know, is it possible to remove that damn steam Prog. Surly it must slow down things being online especially if you have Norton AV running , like myself! Also in the programs connection settings it only goes up to "Lan T1>M". At the moment i am on the 768 setting, but i have a 2MB line, so can the game detect i have a faster line?
Ps-Sorry for what are probally daft Qs but i am quite new to this Gaming Lark!
    Cheers in advance !

LAN>T1 is just a touch faster than 2mb..

Just stick it on LAN>T1 and don't worry about it, it won't have any effect if you set it too high, only if you set it too low.

Steam does not slow your connection at all. When you are not playing CS or HL2 just shut it down.

Nothing wrong with steam running 24/7 - only time i used any bandwidth is when its patching something... and patchs are good things
