Games on a new Hard Drive

Hi quick question - hope it's in the correct forum!!!

Thinking of getting a new HD just to stick my games on, after installing the new hd can I just move the folder accross to it or is it a question of reinstalling everything onto the new hd?

    Cheers

Some games may require reinstall but when I reinstalled Windows XP from scratch I was able to play all the games from my games harddrive straight off (including Splinter Cell and Mafia)

They should all work if you make a registry backup and install then when you format. Best time to make a backup would be straight after a fresh reinstall when you've install windows and all the games.
