"Stray" on Steam - anyone tried it?

I noticed a game on Steam called Stray, and initially it looked ineresting. So I watched a gameplay on Youtube for a bit, but now I'm not so sure.

initially the notion, a cat lost in a strange world of androids (the robot-y things, not phone OSs) seemed dgood, the movement mechanic good too BUT .... after a litte while, it looked like it was just a simple linear find-item-give-to-NPC type puzzle, being led pretty much by the feline schnoz, one item to the next, to unlock the next segment.

Charming it might be, but I'm also worried there's not much more to it than that.

Anyone played it, and is it worth the best part of the £20 they still want for it?

    TIA.

Oh, and I fancy a good platform-type game too. Looked at ... I think it was called Terraria.

Any thoughts or recommendations. TIA again.

You will spend the remaining years of your life playing Terraria, there is a tonne of content, my son must have spent hundreds of hours on it. Worth the £4 or something it's priced at right now.

Think I mentioned these before but Steam World dig 2 is good as is little Nightmares

Re: "Stray" on Steam - anyone tried it?

£4? Hmmm, I need to look again. Maybe it was Terraria 2 or something, or maybe I mis-remember the price. At £4, I'll just bung it in the basket. At £20, it's a bit more considered. Will look at Dig, too. These type of games aren't my favourite (shooters, like Doom, Quake, H/L etc are) but I used to get a hoot out oof Lemmings, so something like that is on the cards.

    EDIT - My Mistook.

Getting senile in my dotage. It's Stray that was £20-ish. Terraria? Yup, £3.49 currently (Black Friday, 50%). Added to basket so if/when I buy the Deck/Dock, it'll be on there (probably later today).

I've not played Stray, it does look good and quite creative. If I didn't have a mountain of games to get through I think I would actually get it.

For a traditional console platformer experience, Hell Yeah! was brilliant.
I played it with the old xbox 360 controller but works just fine with kbm iirc.

The Stanley Parable might be something to consider. Kind of a 1st person puzzle platformer...

    Have a look at Tinykin.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Hell Yeah is a contender. It's exactly the kind of thing I meant. The Stanley Parable looks interesting, and is noted but isn't what I meant as a platform game. In my old gaming terms, it's more Monkey Island (superb, by the way) or Myst (also superb for different reasons) than Lemmings or Prince of Persia.

At the moment, I fancy something that's just a quick game session, a fair bit of reaction and not too much brain.

Hmmm. Seems kind-of a hybrid, sort-of platform but not quite, sort-of puzzle but not quite.

As per Stanley, interesting but not the simple platform game I'm after. Even mark 1 Lemmings might do it, if available. Note to self - check GoG too.

Nope, not on GoG. Steam has Crazy Lemmings which looks to be an evolution but not the charm of the original, somehow. Wonder if I'm still got an old one in a draw, and if it'll work? Doubt it, somehow.

Death's Door looked interesting, but just bought Deep Rock Galactic with the intention of some co-op with my son.

Both look interesting, but also aren't the type of thing I'm after, right now.

A good gaming session, and some bonding time with t#your lad? Double whammy. Win-win. Have fun.

Is there an equivalent of the Namco Collection on PC? I've got it on PS5 and there's some proper coin-op classics on there...

Edit, damn my memory, it's the Capcom collection
