    PSP European Launch Announced!

    More here

As I thought, we're being ripped off again, I know they mention the usual about sales tax etc, but how come we have to pay £180 for the BASIC CONSOLE when the Japanese get the VALUE PACK for only £122?

    Imports a-go-go..

Nine months after... a human baby can develop from a foetus to a complete baby in that time, seasons come and go in that time, the Earth, once cold and racked with storms, becomes warm and pleasant. Popes have died and been replaced in a few weeks, the government of our country, the 4th most powerful in the world, can be dissolved (sadly not literally in the case of New Labour) the entire country can vote, and a new government appointed in a few weeks; And that's how long its going to take for Sony to chuck a few PSPs in a box and get them on sale in Europe? (Complete with disgraceful price-hike of course)

Sony - sort your life out and start making changes.

Well i've just placed an order with my colleague's new wife, who's living in japan at the moment but comes back at the end of May. £120 for the Value pack, no import charges, no delivery fees. Bargain.
    On your 'to do' list

    Yeah, I just read that.

Even if you take the excuse of the UK's higher VAT rate into account from the American price it should still only be £150 tops..

I'm going to get one from Japan, seeing as one of my best mates is going over there in the summer

    Double posting. Tsk.

And why are people favouring a machine that is basically a system full of PS2 ports plus a lame Metal Gear and a FFVII movie?

Have you actually played one? The screen is to die for... it really IS superb...

Sound, although desperately tinny through the built in speakers, is fantastic on the headphones and the wealth of features other than a gaming unit make it a worthy buy... dependent on the pack you get.

ps. Stoo's just replying to two separate posts... nowt wrong with doing two posts for that.

Forget Lik-Sang, even though their prices are cheap, the import taxes are ridiculous. I have one in my clammy hands right now. I bought mine from ukmp3player on ebay - a value pack plus uk power adaptor plus ridge racer for £190, no import tax because it was already in the uk.

And yeah, get a JPN one to ensure full compatibility - REGION 2.

For games yes...UMD Movies however follow the same regions as DVD films etc.
