    Forza Motorsport - Xbox

Its out today, anyone going to be picking it up?

Ive been playing it and its absolutely stunning.. the graphics are GT4 "photomode" quality in game, and even better on the replays
Full LIVE support with allsorts of cool features (selling cars online, car clubs)

the ai is fantastic, and actually recognise you as being another car on the track - unlike some other games they will swerve to avoid you if you spin out, and generally drive really well, but will start to get more aggressive depending how aggressive you drive with them.. they will start giving you little nudges and start pushing you thru corners instead of backing off a bit.
All 230 cars can be customised, and painted/stickered up.. with full freedom you can put any sticker anywhere - all the usual modification options are there, engine, turbo or supercharger upgrades (can bolt one or the other onto pretty much any car) engine swaps!!, exhausts, intakes (i love the way the sound of the car changes with these mods.. a bonus for surround sound setups)
all in all ive only scratched the surface, but i think this is the one to de-crown the mighty GT4..

heres a pic, was taken by my mobile off my tv(32"wide NOT hdtv), its a paused replay(ingame)... can you guess the track?

Got it yesterday, thanks to gameplay

Not had much chance to play it yet, only about an hour or so, but what I have seen so far is top stuff. Had a few career online races. Not played GT4, not having a PS2 anymore, but this game owns GT3 without doubt.

You remember me moaning about there not being anything like PG4 on the Xbox? Well this is it! Amazing graphics and the gameplay is really really good.

This game in my opinion has better handling and AI than GT4. However i still think GT4 has it on graphics (apart from the tyre marks), cars and tracks. Still a great game and im looking forward to a turbocharged Enzo . I also like the engine swap feature, i have a 1973 Porshe Carrera RS with a 700+ hp GT2 twin turbo in it and mazda MX-5 with a 550hp RX-7 rotary engine in it. The Porshe is just silly, but the MX-5 is a monster that can keep up with the ubercars.

EDIT: Oh and a good way to make cash i found is to do the first race in the rotary cup, 2 laps of an oval and if you turn all the aids and stuff off you can be looking at $15,000 for 1:40 racing.

Both great games, I still play PGR2. I would say get the pack with Forza, as it's a new game and you can prolly pick up PGR2 for £20 SH.

How about a Hexus car club then?

Got this game and its fantastic, still getting to grips with it, and i soon realised that 450bhp through the front wheels of an Integra wasnt really the best idea.... sloooow satrt otherwise i just burn rubber for about 10 secs

    Anyone got any hits/tips?

Ive had a chance to play this game more now, and it just keeps getting better.
the highlight for me so far has to be the small attention to detail... like how you end up with scrapes on walls and other cars in the colour of your paintwork when you crash
and the sound is great too.. how the engine sounds are placed where the engine is in the sound field.. eg behind you on the Mid mounted cars and the bark/whistle as the turbo spools up thru the carbon fibre cans
Also the intergration with xbox live is done really well, you can instantly see what the record is for the track, in a particular grade of car.. you can download their laps as ghosts, or download the car setups they used.

Got it today, only been playing it for a couple of hours - but from what Ive played, Im mighty impressed. Took me a while to get back into the more simulative driving style, coming out of PGR2, but I think Im getting the hang of it now.

I have yet to try it on live, but I think Im gonna save that for a while because I have no idea what Im really doing yet, so I might just play it for a while and familiarise myself with the cars and tracks.

Even if you only like racing games a little bit, Forza is well worth getting an Xbox for.

I'd be up for an Hexus Car Club.

Looks like Nurnburgring and that's a b*t*h of a bend in anything fast, coming off that dip that destabilises the car and makes it hard to brake.
If it ain't broke, fetch a bigger hammer
