    Question Pariah PC

Anyone else got this yet ?

Mines just arrived from Play, not overly sure yet as I have only played it for about 10 mins so far. AI seems a bit naff at the minute (enemies were just standing there waiting for me to make the first shot ! ) and the first ingame movie looks quite awful, think they must have just ported it over from the X Box version as it is full of jaggies with the lower res of an X Box on the TV screen. Main title screen is quite dramatic with the music and the background have to say, has a very cinematic feel to it.

Must admit though it looks quite nice and runs really well, its that good old Unreal engine again ! From what i can make out at the min from ingame (not just the back of the box ! ) is that its about a virus of some sort as the main character gets splattered with blood after a few mins of play and it shows one of his blood cells get infected by what looks like a parasite. One thing I definately dont like is the huge targeting crosshair, very similar to HALO. Even in 1024x768 the thing is huge so as long as its turned red you are guarenteed to hit the target.

Expect a forum review shortly once I get through it, shouldnt take overly long, unless Guild Wars keeps taking my time up !

I tried, but I couldn't get any of the sound working in the cutescenes so didn't have clue what was foing on.

I have to agree that what I did play seemed a bit naff, and it definately felt "consoley". Some good thing though, such as the radial wepons menu (nicked from perfect dark!) and green grande explosions!

Will give it a go again when I can find out how to get sound...

I played the xbox version the other day

    seemed pretty good,

i loved creating the maps, pretty easy to do and you have quite a high level of customisation

    good fun in multiplayer

Well, I managed to get in about 30 mins earlier on and it seems to be picking up. I stick with what I said about the AI though, it does seem quite poor, but it is only the starting levels so may actually get better as it goes along. I think the starting levels are literally the equivalent of training levels some games have to get you in the swing of it.

I really like some of the effects, the stream and waterfalls on the first level with the mist and the glow you get from the sunlight through the branches looks really nice.

Trouble is Guild Wars is forever calling !
