    Console Screenshots

I see them all the time, but it has always been a mystery how you can take a screenshot on a console, and then put it on your computer. Does anyone know how this can be accomplished? I'm guessing there has to be some sort of hardware purchase, as well as software to download. I have no clue what these would be though...

magazines are supplied with the screenshots to use, in a press pack.

companies use dev kits, which are somewhat easy to capture, to provide screens.

I thought they used tracing paper and water colours?

At least, that's what PS2 shots look like, ARF!

Or you just play it through one of the those video capture devices that capture to disk/card/etc Look a bit like a small VCR. They use a simular system to take stills from CCTV foootage. I think most mags/sites use a PC card though.

As for handhelds, they usually just use a digital camera. Probably in macro mode with a bit of tweaking. It would not be too hard.
