    What to play (PC Games)

hello, have been holding off buying PC games for the sake of my studies, now that that's over, what have I missed?

I have already played and completed thouroghly

    Farcry
    Doom 3

    And online play

    UT2k4
    Battlefield Serise

I'm wary about Half Life 2 because of its easyness, plus I never liked CS that much, seems like a boring version of soldier of fortune 2. Aside from online RPG's (I don't want to get addicted to em) what else is there to play? My rig should be able to handle most things i should hope:

    P4 2.80Ghz @ 3.60Ghz
    512 PC3200
    ASUS 6800GT 256M @ ULTRA
    ASUS P4C800-E DELUXE
    ANTEC SUPER LANBOY
    TAGAN 480W PSU

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

There is Rome Total War, Swat 4, Brothers in Arms, Battlefield 2 (in about 3 weeks) all great games and will work on your system although it might be good if you upgrade to 1GB for Battlefield 2

1GB won't be enough if you play multiplayer on a 64 slot server. All the previews suggest having more then 1GB to enjoy BF2 on high details. Memory is really cheap now so you should be able to pickup a good deal.

Guild Wars (Online only RPG, highly addictive, superb game alround ! I had to mention it !!! )

I am quite tempted by BIA but don't know how long it will last me, PC games in France can cost about 60€ and I can't be bothered to wait a around for an online purchase to arrive, so it's got to last me a while.

As for Guild Wars...I just don't get it I can't see the fun in going around fighting people and getting expirience points. But apparently there is a single player story to it:

'Even if you have no interest in player-versus-player battling whatsoever, Guild Wars will still provide you with more than 100 hours of quality gameplay, which you can tackle either alone or together with other players pretty much every step of the way.'

I am a big fan of Final Fantasy VII, would this appeal to me then?

I await your counsil game gurus

Lego Star Wars, I've been playing it all weekend, it's insane!

Also as someone mentioned, Tron 2.0. It's a fantastic FPS that is severely underrated, and it can be picked up for only a few quid nowadays if you know where to look!

Lego Star wars eh? At first I thought you were joking! I'll check it out for a laugh but me thinks I'll be getting Guild Wars, although open to other Star wars game suggestions, KOTR I'll be borrowing soon.

chronicles of riddick, great game but short.

half life is worth play but it is a little easy, tho there are mods to fix that (substance)

have you played call of duty? if not its a must have, amazing game esp with the expansion - united offensive

lego star wars is a great laugh too

These are the games Ive got installed, all are good, but some are a bit old, but still good
    Some a bit consol'ish though..

    halflife 2
    Doom3
    painkiller
    enclave
    bloodrayne
    freelancer
    max payne1/2
    sacred
    diablo2
    x2

Does play.com ship to france? Cheapest place for games in the UK so I assume it will be for france...

Guildwars/other MMORPG's dont really have any story like FF7 did (which is what made it so good). Ive been playing EQ2 for about 2 months and it does start to get quite boring.. Not really played it in the last week or two.. I think gw/WoW will be the same. WoW is almost the same as eq2 but much easyer and more basic with more kids playing it..

Thanks for all the suggestions, went out with intention of buying Guild Wars, 50€ ok....Half Life 2 catches my eye for €40 (normal rip off price 60€), got em both, this should keep me entertained for a bit, only games I've bought since UT2004 back on it's relsease.

**Only played Call of Duty Demo**

...WTF my access Key is in use for Guild Wars?! Ahh, what do I do?

EDIT: a bit juvenile but come on...I'm pissed off

    support@guildwars.com

MY KEY IS ALREADY IN USE????!!!!!!

Hello, I have just purchased Guild Wars from my local Game shop here in France. Installed Guild Wars, entered the Key, and filled out all the information and I get this:

''The access key you have entered is in use. Try Entering in another access key. If this problem persists, visit the guild wars support website (Err=103)''

I want to know what you intend to do about this, attached is the copy of my receipt ( recepit.JPG )

I do NOT want to wait for a new CD key to be sent by post! I want it via email or via phone. Here are my details:

    My name
    0********* (French Phone)

I await your reply with impatience and hope to hear from you A.S.A.P

Rome Total War is probably the best game to have come out recently, loads of replayability as well because once you beging playing as Rome, you start unlocking other empires to play, and they are all very different.

Planetside - its an MMOG but its bloody good.

If you liked doom3, get the expansion pack Ressurection Of Evil, its a great addon with new guns, new baddies and a long quality single player campaign.
