What do you mean by quality of map?

So the same map is different on different servers? Do you turn your graphic settings down/up between games

This is true as it's an old admin trick to change a few things. Loads of people have them open and don't realise!

Some could be the source map, and the others could be the 1.6 maps put on a CSS server

I think I see what you mean.

Do you mean like there will be de_inferno on both servers but one looks better than the other? or cs_assault on both but they look different?

This will be because there are different versions of these maps about on different servers.

eg with inferno, theres the 'official' valve version which is cr@p, looks pretty but plays terrible - thats on our server. Other servers might have a better conversion of inferno on them - ie any other conversoin than valves

with assault there still isnt an official one yet, but there are loads of custom conversions, all of varying quality.

So the answer is they are different maps

could be how different variables are set for things, eg when you shoot an object it may disappear like on our server, or it may be set so it can recieve damage. like when you shoot computers and they break open.
