Unhappy Mouse buttons make me looks behind

I've managed with this for a while now, but it's finally starting to annoy me. In all games I've tried on my PC, when I click the two side buttons on my mouse, it makes the camera either look behind, downward or upwards or something. It does something strange with the camera.

It's only just started to annoy me because in GTA:SA, flying a plane/helicopter is auful without the control of the mouse to move the camera, so I've tried setting the up/down keys to the side buttons. However, as well as making the plane go either up/down, it also makes the camera look behind, making the camera even worse.

    I'm using a trust 305KS optical deskset (I know - not a good one, but I'm sticking, and I don't want to shell out for a joystick/controller).

As it is now, I'd need 3 hands to control the camera with the mouse as well, hence why I've tried to change the up/down to the mouse too.

I have tried updating the driver, but it didn't seem to have done much good, although I'm not sure if I properly uninstalled the previous one first. Since there was a problem with the new one (it made a folder open up on startup), I reverted to the older one.

Anyone know how to stop this happening?

EDIT - I normally have the two side buttons as copy/paste if that helps.

You should get a PS2 USB adaptor, only like £7 on Play. I use one for lego star wars and other games.

OK, it doesn't seem to do it in CS:S, so maybe it doesn't do it in as many games as I thought. Still, it definatly does it in GTA:SA.

EDIT - I really don't want to make another post straight after another 2 of mine, so I'll just edit this one.

I asked trust what might be wrong, but they've just replied with this:

Think I'll be off to the rockstar forums next then (assuming they have one).

Does the game have a look behind command, check the controll options. You should just be able to re assine it.

That was the 1st thing I checked. The look behind button is middle mouse button or "." (i think). It's not defined as anything else.

Also, I now know that it doesn't do this in either UT2004 or CS:S.

I used to have one of those, and it did exactly the same thing. I got pissed off with it's extreme crappiness and replaced it with an mx510.

Not much help i know, but at least you know it's not a prob with your compy.
