Question HOW do you use PS2 Network Adapter without router through a pc?

as name suggests. this is what i got.the ps2 the cable it came with rj-45 my pc with dual lan asus a7n8x-e deluxe... now how the hell do i set it up to allow the pc to connect to the pc and allow the ps2 access to the internet so i can game online cause the sony site is pointlessly useless as i dont have a router.and i cant plug it into my modem either (onetel 512 connection) as its not the same plug... this is annoying me alot and all i wanna do is plug the ps2 into the pc to allow it to connect to my modem and do online ps2 gaming...
    HOW DO I DO THIS?

Use Internet Connection Sharing on your current connection, share it to your ethernet port and bobs your mothers brother.

this really helps my thread doesn't it [/sarcasm]
the idea was i didn't want to buy a bloody router i just wanna do it the way people without routers do it throught the ethernet etc... but all i get is advertising for a router pfft... why should i pay for a router when i can do it through my pc and use msn and other web apps on the pc with the slight preformance loss on the ps2s connection all at once...

A couple of weeks ago I tried to use ICS... what a waste of time.

Spent all day pissing about with it, only for it to work sometimes and not others.

Gave up and bought a router, and TBH I should have done it ages ago.

    Routers FTW
