TS Server - Who Pays?

yes, we basically have enough people to pay for it. I think we should get anyone that want to pay into #hexus.gaming on Quakenet and it can be discussed there further in depth. Instead of making more further threads.

Well, basically, I'm planning to start it all of on Saturday (i hope). Unless anyone really has a problem with anything, we're going for a 20 man server for a whole year. The reason we're going for a year, and not a month is that it's over £10 cheaper in total.

Daymonkey - I don't think it's a good idea to discuss it in IRC (whilst it would be a good idea) as not everyone uses it. But if anyone sees anyone else in IRC and would like a chat, feel free .

Can I suggest that if anyone sees anyone else who might be remotley interested, please politley ask them if they'd like to chip in

Right - we're about ready to pay as far as I can see.

Could you please email Ramedge at "ben dot craven at gmail dot com" with the subject "TS". Then on Saturday he will put your email address into a list, and you'll each be sent a link that you go to to pay. It cannot wait any longer than Sunday morning, so any emails he doesn't get by then won't have contributed. The amount will be approximatly £4 (after conversion from dollars) for a 20 man server for the year.



For now, it seems that we won't be getting a server for a while. The site we chose has a clan pay system whereby one person pays the first month themselves, then on the second month, the clan pay system kicks in. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want to pay a whole month myself.

I was told last night that they'd be changing it to a better system in the next few days. This now turns out to be false.

Did you go for the 20 man or did you get the 30 man server in the ened? I think 30 would be the best decision to allow for growth etc.

The whole thing basicaly fell apart, becasue of the payment systems. The basic problem was that one persion would have to put there name down first, then if someoen who said theyd pay, didnt. Then they would get lumped with the bill. We where assused by the company that this was going to be changed, however they did not implement a new system and seem to have changed there mind. Ajbrun's gone on holiday for 3 weeks and seem as he was orgaising it, its all falled apart. Hopefully we'll keep the idear in mind and try organising it again at a later date.

If any one has the ability to host a TS server along with the ones currently been hosted, then please feel free to get in touch. Useing a network of small servers might be the way forward for now.

Well why doesn't the "payer" just wait until he/she has recieved ALL of the money, and THEN purchase the server? That way nobody gets screwed (so long as you pick a trustworthy payer )

We are going to wait abit before we buy the server as we arnt sure what we want and were not to sure on the demand of the server, we would like to get more people from the gaming forum interested. also ajbrun has gone away for 3weeks to france (okay for some) and he wants to put money towards the server, he also has helped arrange every thing. so the plan is to wait for abit and bare with the 2 servers we have atm.

I think the idear of people putting money into one pot and doing the ordeirng there would be the best, if nothing else works out. Does any one who payer for the CS server rember how that was orgaised?

well basically all the email addresses of the the people willing to pay would be entered onto a pay system provided by the hosting company. They will then split the cost of the server between the amount of people who were entered into the system. An email would then be sent out to all the email addresses with a link to a page, That page is were you fill in your payment details and you are then billed for your share of the server.
