EA and valve, and attacking beloved HL2 now it'l get crap.
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
sorry... hl2 was crap anyway. the story was pathetic and boring, much like the first one. I dont see how they could make cs:s much worse, so Im not really bothered.
As long as they don't start releasing CS:Source 2006 everything will be fine.
They won't have any say over the development of Valve's games. They are just publishers.

bah well valve have sold out...I know EA actaully dont make the games (well not usually, exclusing EApacific etc here) but they have made a right mess of the majority of games they have released...Lets just hope that they just print the boxes and sell them; and that valve continue with their currently excellent customer support.
uh-oh
So when's Counter-Strike Source 2006 super deluxe street-fighter edition turbo due for release then ?
Umm, if people read it then they'd realise that EA are only distributing Valve's games, nothing else.
EA are the distributers for most of their own games.Originally Posted by KeZZeR

im not for this but im not against it, more people having access to hl2 and css cant be bad can it?
so long as they do not touch a code line in any future games im not really bothered about this
did you read about the packages they are releasing
Game of the Year, Half life 2, Counter-Strike Source, Half-life 2 Deathmatch and Half-Life source
They are obviously gonna sell that at like 40 quid, its a nice feeling that i know i bought the collectors edition silver tin for only 15 pounds on amazon and that came with a TEESHIRT! oh yeh!
and they are also selling 'Counter-Strike Source' seperatly, thing is....it comes with dod source? Has day of defeat lost popularity? why isnt it being sold seperatly anymore on its release?
Pete
EA succesful but also EA= rubbish and broken evil people .. they are taking over pc gaming realay. i would not be surprised to see EA with a market share of over 50% in pc gaming soon (consoloes are still a bit more open with ninty games and the like)
AMD3000+ ATIX800XL + GBNF44x mobo.. all at stock because they're good enough atm + CA A1 amp-->Mission 73S Loigtech MX1000 + 1GB ram + 1/3 TB HD array
Wintendo XP + Linux (when it works).. just incase you were wondering
EA are primarily a publisher. Many of the products that carry the EA logo are produced by independent development teams and then published under the EA banner.
All that has happened here is that EA have done a publishing deal with Valve. They might possibly also be helping to fund future Valve products, but that's in no way the same as developing a game themselves or using one of their in-house dev teams on a game.
