    Is BF2 worth getting yet?

    I get paid on Monday.

I liked the BF2 demo, but never had much time to play it.

Is it worth me forking out for the full game yet? Or should I wait untill all the patches are sorted?

Simple "Yes" or "No" poll. Only post useful comments in any language apart from Alaskan.

Yes get it. Its currently in a state playable although the server browser is arse, you can use other tools to find friends. Thinkt hey are trying to get people to use gamespy rather than the built in server browser.

Yes, once you get into a game it's dynamite to play. (Only problem is that doing so can sometimes waste a good 5 minutes of your time because of the server browser and load times)

    Definately get it.

I upgraded to 2GB of RAM and haven't had a crash since.

Before I was crashing maybe every 10 minutes or so but with 2GB of RAM it hasn't crased once for 4 days :-)

Yours will be fine on low/medium effects. Get a better gfx card and you're fine to go the full distance on settings.

    Yep. It really is fun.

Find a good group of players to play with and the fun will increase 10 fold.

Runs fine on 1gb RAM here.

Thing is, I hate gamespy with a passion, so use the imgame browser. I can usually find a decent game within a minute or so.

It really needs a buddy thing on there though.

Having lots of fun atm... cant put the dam game down. Been using TS for comms, seems the odd time the ingame has been used, the quality was pretty poor.

Definately pick it up, getting a good ranked server with an effective squad/commander and chuck in squad voicecomms and the game just takes off.

Spawning next to your squad leader hidden behind a rock planning an ambush on an enemy flag point with total strangers in a public server is just something that never happened with BF9142/DC. Teamwork is great fun and teamkills in ranked servers are just about always a genuine accident so you tend not to get the sort of idiots you get used to in pub servers.

Unfortunately, the ranking is a bit depressing once you see the required scores for the ranks after Lance Corporal..... 10,000 points for Corporal and it just gets worse from there upwards until 2,500,000 points for the highest rank (although speculation says that this is just a placeholder for the rank atm until EA sort it all out)

We have been doing exactly the same, the in-game voice is rubbish for me, TS all the way.
Just make sure you go in ranked servers, this avoids all the noobs who like to blow you up if you got in a plane before they did!
