    BF2 Graphics

Recently bought the game, but the graphics aren't as smooth as I was expecting. You can see my system specs below, I've maxed the settings in game, although only running at 1024x768. AA is set at x6. The settings on my card are for max quality, but I'm still getting loads of jagged lines.

    Any ideas?

Depends on your screen size, if its a 17" that you're used to running at 1280x1024 any game at 1024x768 will look more pronounced for jaggies.

Had the same prob on HL2, when I bumped the rez up I didn't need AA

Have you got vertical sync on? That usually causes vertical/jagged lines....

Cheers guys, (Got a 19" monitor by the way) I'll look at the vertical sync when I get home. Hopefully that'll sort it.

I think there is a lighting setting that needs to be turned down, above shadows - turn it to medium - you will notice no difference, but I think it only applies to card with PS3 (which you don't have) since it deals with parallex mapping. This is what I have heard from a friend, but try it anyway. Also I found that 1gb of ram for maximum textures isn't good, I built a new computer for a mate with A64 3400, 6800GT, 1gb DDR400 and we had to turn textures to medium to stop stuttering. I have 1.5gb ram so I can run at maximum

All sorted, put the card onto application preference for AA and AF, looking flipping nice now!

Just had my first online session last night, (up till 2am .... time flew), just need to get a squad with everyone using VOIP, it was pretty good even though there were just 2 of us using it.

Half way to ranking up after this morning, got on a really good server, but was denied my basic sniper badge, 9 kills, before MEC took over all points and I couldn't respawn - booooooooo!!!!!
