    Doom movie trailer released

    Check it out...

    http://media.filmforce.ign.com/media...d_1183839.html

It STILL doesn't seem like they've managed to stick to the game plot. No mention of an interdimensional portal, rather, they seem to have opted for the genetic research gone-wrong plot.

So, Resident Evil in space then?

I haven't watched the trailer yet but most people seem to say it's ok. Also at Comic-Con in the US they showed the trailer first and a "FPS sequence" which apparently had the crowd going wild over. So it looks like they've some attempt to satiate the original fans with the film and let's hope some of that FPS sequence gets leaked online at some point.

Well the trailer looks good, but that probably means its going to have a weak plot and be 120mins of buffed up guys running around in the dark.

I dont see why they're not sticking with the "hell unleashed" storyline, maybe the christian church would have complained lots.

Doom had a plot Come on this is going to be as good as every other game-made-in-to-a-film. ie utter rubbish. Its easy to make a trailer look interesting but to keep someone's butt on the seat is going to be hard.

Having just viewed the trailer. It looks like resi-evil in mars. Oh well another naff tie in film then.

Man as cool as Doom is, I don't think it has much potential for a movie, especially as it's a horror orientated game - the scare just won't be the same. I'm still going to probs watch this though

well, i couldnt see the video on that trailer, but from the audio it sounded just like resident evil (which was actually quite a good film iirc)

heres hoping we dont see a, Half-Life 2 or Farcry film eh?

tenner says EA would make the Half-Life 2 film now that they have distribution rights......STUPID EA! stick to making low quality sports games

Here's a link http://www.aint-it-cool.com/display.cgi?id=20852 and me saying "wild" is probably an understatement according to that . Then again Aint-it-cool haven't always been exactly truthful in the past.

I saw a response from comicon people and the only thing they went wild about was seeing iD developers there.

I guess people are bound to various opinions about what they saw. But I'm pretty keen to check out this FPS footage to see if it's good as they say it is.

Lol mate, I remember hearing that a Far Cry film is in the making. And I also remember seeing an interview with Gabe Newell or someone else top at Valve where they were talking about a movie of Half Life with respective people - but I don't think they went ahead. Isn't a Halo movie going to start soon enough too?

Also a Max Payne movie is in the making. They should SOOOO make a movie based on Final Fantasy VIII!

A Halo movie will come out as soon as anyone stupid is enough to pay MS the extortionate amount of money for the license.

As for the Doom film, I'll probably end up watching it cos I'm a sucker for bad action flicks. Still, I REALLY wish they'd stuck with the whole "Hell" theme.

I don't think they'd have faced any opposition from religious groups....you only normally get that if you're promoting sinful acts, or trying to portray what Heaven and God would look like. Since the film does neither of those, I think they're safe.
