I can guarantee it wasn't shot by a trooper with a missile...they're flipping useless.

I find the TOW good for shooting chopeprs down![]()
I find that being good in a chopper is the fastest way to get kicked

Vaguely on-topic: http://www.forumplanet.com/planetbat...id=1715944&p=3
People on the PlanetBattlefield forums are photoshopping WW2 posters to make them more relevant..
E.G.
..and many more.
EDIT: AND there's this site http://www.static3d.com/ for BF42 related posters..

Yep damn game needs ground-to-air shoulder launched missiles, damn jets and choppers are too powerful and too annoying. The other alternatives are too crap.
"Roger two-four we have a missile hit on our port wing, no problem sir me and the other 4 engineers will climb out on the wing and fix it immediately whilst you perform that 9G immelman turn."
That will be fixed in the new patch (thank f**k) but for now we just have to suicide them in a jet and get 5 kills
And those posters are genius!
Talking of aircraft in BF2 - does it support joysticks? I was looking forward to flying choppers with a joystick, but it don't appear to be possible. Even though the manual lists em as an option and there is an ad for logitech stuff, including a joystick, at the back of the manual. Argh!
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
yes you can, although i found joystick to be a bit arse for copters. Just plug the stick in and map it the same as a key, left mouse click on the direction then move the joystick.
Only USB joysticks work - gameport sticks don't...
I've got a Saitek Cyborg Evo stick, and it's great for both choppers and jets once you get used to it.
Incidentally, I'm having problems with the VTOL jets, is there a closely guarded secret gor the transition from vertical to horizontal flight?

I find if you just move up a bit, bout 20-30m, then change the jets quickly whilst pulling up slightly it works.Originally Posted by Fatboy

Cheers - thought it might be that, although often the problem is arses constantly bombing the carrier so you can't even try.

There's a massive debate on this on other BF2 specific forums.Originally Posted by Fatboy
Some people call it base raping, others say its OK if its your enemies last base, you can subdue them and hold your wim. Like they do in real life.
I find the people that wait for the jets and coptors untill they spawn are annoying.
You're losing around 2-5 men (dependant on the map) which could make a difference!
