    medieval total war on SP2...

    anyone got it working properly? seems some naff 'M$' security setting kicks in as I decide to play...it starts ok, then when I start selecting which campaing to do i get booted out of the program and back to the desk top...
    anyone had this? what did you do?

    Have you tried something like these off the Activision support site?

    They don't say too much, but they may help. Also, have you tried turning off Data Execution Prevention for Medieval:Total War?

    cheers, yeah I have a pretty upto date system (amd64, 6600gt, 1gig ram) and latest drivers for bits and the game.

    oddly enough I can play a 'quick battle' in the game so I know that part works, its just that trying to play the campaign bit causes it to crash and exit to desktop...

    i'll have a closer look at the DEP thing though, it shouldn't cause any probs with what I have but no harm in trying.

    ah nuts, DEP is all greyed out!!!?!
    how do I get access to it? I'm the only one who uses this computer so its weird why its not letting me using 'must be admin' as an excuse...

    I believe if you add -show_err to the end of the shortcut, M:TW will output some error message explaining the problem.
    You might be able to get more information from the Total War Forums. This thread seems similar to your problem.

    Ive had no problem playing MTW with SP2
