PSP - to get one or not?

Wondering if I should get one. Never really played my GBA when I got it(for the original one which had similar shape to PSP).

Thinking bout getting one as it does have some good games I would play(GTA when it comes out, GT4, some footy game etc)

Reason I'm considering it as it can do more than games(also like the possibility of hooking it up to my wireless network).

If I do get one, don't think there is any point getting an import with uk release about a week away.

Anyone who's got one - worth it? What else can it do apart from games/dvd?
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

    psp

They can also play mp3's and videos, But they do need converting to the right format. You would need a memory stick though for that and they aint cheap.

A 1GB Memory Stick Duo Pro can be had for around £60.

The main functions of the PSP are: Games, music, video (UMD or your own rips on a memory stick) and web-browsing. This could be expanded by Sony with future firmware releases or by hackers.

Music and games at the same time, totally unsure on that, but to browse the web is free, that is assuming you are on a free wireless network. For example, if you go to work/mates/home/airport/hotel for example which usually have a free wireless network flowing through our brains, then just hop on it like a bus. But some other places like cafes, you need a small fee to get on

Any idea how many songs you could fit on it though (With a game like Fifa) I'd like about 3 games and maybe 5 albums (10-15 songs each)

Probably not, but why would you want to do that. The sound will be essential for 99% of games surely.

How easy is it to develop your own software on the psp and any snazzy gadgetry needed to port your own modest little software onto the psp.
Im an amateur programmer always looking for cool new platforms.
