    pacific fighters aaaargh

I recently purchased a x850 xt pe and i got this game with it for free. but unfortunatly im really bad at it. I can take off but after that its a stall frenzy and thats followed by my death.

How do you play this game? there are more buttons then you can shake a stick at.

hmmm.. patience young Padawan... serious learning curve involved What you could do, is get the rest of the series - IL2: Forgotten Battles & the Aces Expansion Pack.. both these are doubtless available somewhere together for £20 or summat.. get Hyperlobby (online game room type affair), get the game patched up and then come online for a fly.. we'll get ya goin

do you play with keyboard or with a joystick?
I tried to do it with keyboard, but that pretty much sucks, so I bought a Joystick...
Only with a joystick, this game is real fun

But like the others said, this game needs a bit of practice time

landing is a pretty hard thing, and its even harder when you have got some holes in you plane

Gets harder still when your IL2 has lost rudder and elevator controls, theres 109's hovering around your 6 and you have a pilot on a 6 mission alive streak.

    Then landing gets fun hehehe

    keyboard

im only using a keyboard. Might have to invest in a joystick. Can anyone suggest a good one for a good price?

Cyborg Evo is the best budget stick if they still do it. il2/pacfic fighters is impossible without it!..

    Word!
    I've got the same...
Its just great, you got 12 buttons (free programmable), a really nice coolie hat, you can set it up perfectly for your hand... it's a awesome product...

if you really want to spend a lot money on a joystick to get the real "simulation feeling", look at a saitek x-52

If you're interested in aviation and understand the basic principles of flight I think people find the initial experience far less difficult. Oh, and it's impossible without a joystick too.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

yeah, it's possible, but it's just not as funny and smooth as with a joystick...
