That is so overpriced that I am speechless. I hope the "and more" is worth a ton.

Well EBgames are still around they only rebranded themselves as GAME. I am concerned with those prices too and it'll be probably be bumped up for us Brits .

It's likely it'll be more expensive if you bought all of that separately and I'm gonna wait a couple months after the release until the prices drop before I'll consider buying it.

think from what i've heard £533 for premium pack, 4 launch titles extra controller etc.

    if you think 279 + 33 (controller) + 4 * (45 or 50) a game?.... thats easy going to come to ~£500

Its a new launch box, people pay through the nose to get them.

Its the price of having the new kit first.....

I doubt sony will drop their prices really unless ms give them some serious competition. A lot of gamers are just too loyal to sony as they're willing to pay the premium price regardless whether which console is better or cheaper.

Well the 280 bundle pack looks like darn good value for a launch.
Not sure about game costs, but all that kit for 280 is not bad at all - I think those prices include a few games anyway so that isn't too bad really is it?
And EBGames no longer works with GAME UK Ltd afaik - as EBUS wanted 1% of their profits just so they could use the EB name, they just renamed them all to GAME.

Why is it that people always moan about the price? They should have a look at what Sega sold the Saturn at (£/$400) and 3DO ($700) now they were expensive. I personally think the X360 is being sold at a very good price point (in the UK) for once we are not being ripped off by the $1=£1.

Having a closer look at the EB bundles they actually save you $22 over buying all the stuff seperately. So that makes it cheaper.

GAME was around before EB became GAME wasn't it? I thought Game bought them out, maybe EB bought out GAME.

I'm not a console guy at all but by the end of 2006 I should be a Uni student who can't afford expensive PC stuff (can I now?) so once the price war begins might pick myself something up, probably a 360, i just seem to prefer it.

Yeah, I'm so tempted to get the 360 on release. However I have Christmas with the 3 kids to sort out so my other half said wait till the New Year and the January sales. So I decided to go one better and wait till PS3 is released, should imagine within the first 2 months prices will start to drop on both consoles, ideal time to buy.

You have no chance of seeing price cuts until Sony release PS3. This isn't like PC hardware that has constant price drops, these are expensive (to manufacture) games consoles that are subsidised by their manufacturers.

MS learnt the hardway with Xbox, by releasing the console 6 months behind the US at a very expensive price (compared to PS2) with hardly any decent games. Stock was sitting on shelves, there was no one rushing out to buy them, even to the point of not selling out on release. Thats why MS dropped the price by £100 within a month and even gave 2 free games+controller to those who had bought one.

The X360 is going to be a massive release with shortages over the christmas period. MS will have the market to themselves for at least 6-9 months (there is about 0% chance of Sony releasing PS3 in the UK in March) with no real competition they have no need to drop the prices until that competition arrives.

The "if they can do it, so can I" attitude just screws everyone. Pointing out the existence of two overpriced failures solves nothing.
