    Half Life Blue Shift

heh - downloaded on steam last night - gotta love those retro lens flare effects!

I don't think it's actually been given the actual steam treatment though, based on the engine, but no physics, textures or models have been implemented. it's nice to have - and finally my fps in a game goes back above 200!

blue shift is a great game, does it come with the 'high definition pack' when downloaded through steam?

eg, are the Marines MP5s now M4s? and are the character models high pixel counts than the ones in the original half life?

i have a feeling valve released this so they can delay DOD:Source by a little because they said they were releasing DOD:Source on the 1st September but now they have an excuse to delay 'Our servers are overloaded uploading Blue Shift to everyone, its not our fault!'

just my opinion though, im not gonna bother downloading Blue Shift i have already played it to death

    thanks

I still have that thing boxed up somewhere, great value for what it was at the time, a HL expansion which didn't need the original game for £20.

I borrowed it from my next door neighbour once and it changed everything on my regular half-life and opposing force graphics, just installed the steam version without downloading it :s. Going to watch the cricket now, I'll try it out later.

it was meant to be the 'exclusive' chapter only found on the Dreamcast version of HL - which never got released in the end. ditto all the high-res textures & models it came with, they were the standard models & textures on the dreamcast version

yeh it upgrades the graphics like i said in my first post of half life and opposing force, i wonder if they have included that on the steam download version

DirectHex, the ps2 version has the exact same stuff as dreamcast, although im not sure it has the full blue shift game (just half life and high definition pack)

    hey
isn't blueshift that addon where you only need 2 hours to finish it?

No, blueshift is a great game, but I never saw the graphic update, is it worth the download?
