    Tom Clancy's Chaos Theory

Done something a bit random and bought Tom Clancy's Chaos Theory. Mainly because it only cost me £10 and also because I am looking for something a bit different to play over Multiplayer.

I have heard of Clancy games in the past obviously, but I am clueless as to how a) good they are b) what they are even about c) what do you actually do in them???

If someone could explain to me a bit about them I would be most appreicative, just want to know whether its more of a Hitman style game or a Half-Life 2 style game?! ...Or possibly neither. Any help.

Out of the two... hitman style..

It's an espionage game, you work for a secret government agency, get lots of cool gadgets and have to sneak around alot... or go in guns blazing, your choice!

Very good game - As is all the Splinter Cell series.

The co-op is very cool as you actually have to play off your partner on several occasions to get over obstacles. Use them as a ladder, repel one down a shaft, give a foot up and several other things.

Very good games overall it has to be said.

Read: a lot of male 2 male contact, and crotches in faces.

I like Chaos Theory except the mini game thing where you hack into the doors etc, just cant seem to do it and alarms keep going off, guess I should read the instructions on how to actually do it instead of just button bashing.

Its by far the best Splinter Cell game to date

Every Splinter Cell game has improved on the one before it, CT is the best yet indeed.

I do have a tendency to read it as "Chavs Theory" when browsing the rack in shops

Wait til the numbers go green then scroll across to them quickly and hit them!

I've played all the Splinter Cell games and Chaos Theory is by far my favourite, it has probably the best character control in any game.

I can't wait to see what they do to the next one, I'm hoping for some more Hitman style gameplay, rather than just climbing up a drainpipe, I'd much rather play undercover or something, rather than planning my route between shadows and hiding places

Has anyone got much experience of what the multiplayer is like, i.e against another person across a LAN?

It's not really Splinter Cell though, is it? There's a new Hitman game coming, supposedly a bit less punishing on the stealthy stuff.

Splinter Cell is all about being invisible and sneaking between shadows!

I have mixed thoughts on Chaos Theory. Have they removed some actions, ie, the wall jump (jump at wall, kicks off, grabs ledge on other side), plus there seems to be less hanging from pipes along the ceiling, jumping between two walls, etc, etc. I've managed to go through the majority of the game using mostly my pistol to take out lights and knocking guards unconscious. Rarely do I use the assault rifle.

I used to play it often with my mate, its fun (and actually REALLY funny.... for example get someone to keep pressing q while looking at you). Also a really cool effect is the voice-comms, you have to whisper down the mic because depending on how loud you speak, the sound meter goes up.

Visually the game looks incredible too. Bumpmaps galore (or eye throbbingly gorgeous Parallex if you have a Pixel Shader 3 capable card)

Thats awesome, I can't wait for this game to arrive! How many players can it take up to maximum over a LAN? I have tried finding it out but it just says Network play.

    4 iirc

2 player cooperative or 4 player Guards vs. Agent missions.
