Running old dos based games on XP

    Hi all,

My Dad is trying to run a load of his old dos games on his new PC under XP, mainly Doom, Doom2 and Imperium galatica.

The problem is Doom runs really slowly and Imperium galatica does not run at all.

We have tried runing them with XP's not to great compatibility mode with out and success.

Does any know of any programs that make older dos based games run well?

    New PC is Athon 64 3000+, 62MB Geforce4 and 256MB RAM.

    Thanks in advance

I'm having the same probs with some of the old 98 games, Indiana Jones : Infernal Machine, Blood 2 and a good few others.

To resolve matter I have created a new partition using Partition Magic only 2 Gb in size for a Windows 98 install (Might actually use Millenium, not decided yet ! ) so I can Dual Boot my system with XP and 98 / Millenium and therefore play all my old games once again !
