    decent racer

anyone know a half decent racer thats on the PC at the mo.

have got GTR, but its way to difficult to play without a steering wheel and my thumbs are about as subtle as a herd of elephants.

wouldnt mind something along the lines of GT4, not bothered how old it is either to be honest.

    cheers

NFSU:2 is pretty good, if you arent fussed about a damage model. And theres always trackmania, although its really a puzzle game that just happens to have cars in rather than a racer.

OK, so it's a sim, but it's very accessable, plenty of cars and tracks, S2 gives you even more and a damage model. Concentrates on the racing, great fun online

Ive got a Logitech Formula Force GP and its great tbh, nice price etc, although the clamping system is a tad flimsy. I got mine for about £25 from PC World *shudder*

Plenty good enough for GTR, GT Legends and rFactor.

i've lost far too many hours sleep playing the trackmania sunrise demo. Its one of those games thats rediculously easy to pick up and play but damn hard to master. Good thing about it is more people play the demo than the full version so ur pretty much getting a game for free.

DO NOT get a second hand MS FF Wheel with the Gameport, it is no longer supported and does not work with newer games. The USB version is all good and a great wheel.

Look at the Saitek 440Pro steering wheeel, it doesn't have a gear stick but it does have buttons on the wheeel you can use for changing gear. Here's the best bit, you have the choice of a desk clamp or those of us that have puny desk space the bottom of the wheel has a mould to allow you to sit it on your lap. Mate has one of these and the thing never shifts at all on your lap.

got the R220 in the end as it was going cheap at PC world (well, £30)

quite enjoying playing with it at the mo, although i might try and flog it to my little brother and get one with force feedback
