hehe yeah it's a great game..
took me ages to get it running with voices under win2k few years ago.

I remember playing it when it was a fairly new game too though.
We cannot choose what we are.. but what are we but the sum of our choices?

it's not hard to get working with voices, as long as you HAVE the talkie (CD) version and not the silent (Floppy) version

    1) go to scummvm.org, download, install
    2) put DOTT data files somewhere - for a talkie, this should be something like tentacle.000, tentacle.001 and monster.sou
    3) tell scummvm to use the folder with the data files in it

there are some developer tools to recompress monster.sou with mp3 or vorbis, if you're short on space.

Yes, but getting it all working on a phone wasn't as easy. Had to compress monster.sou to monster.s03 to shrink the size, make sure i had a version of EscummVM for the phone that supported the mp3 conversion, get savegames working and such.

    All works now

Brilliant, what a great game that was. They just don't put humor in games like that anymore do they.

I didn't even know they ported scumvm for phones - that's an interesting though as I just got a new Nokia. I've been playing Moankey Island 1-3 via scumvm and planned on moving to the other scumm engine games, but portable scumm games sound even better.

    Cheers for the info.
