Willing to give consoles another try...will keep current rig and let it age...gracefully use it for CS etc msn, while xbox 360 for games.

I would get an Xbox360 at the mo, and around a year after that upgrade your PC. (Or probably build a whole new one)

Oh, toughie. I am upgrading my PC now and will probably be getting the 360 next Summer with the inevitable cheaper console and classic games

So I do not know how to answer the poll. Fancy editing in an "other" option?

Consoles quickley go out of date as you can't upgrade them, so I say PC upgrade.

    Daft question IMO.

I'd rather get a shiny new 6800 ultra or above for my athlon 64 system - I can only play the F.E.A.R demo in 800x600 on my 9800 pro and it looks a bit rubbish on my 19" tft. I need a card that can cope with 1280x1024 for the native resolution.

    Daft question.

    Would you rather:
    A) buy a (virtually) un-upgradeable box to let you play (almost) the same games as you can get on your PC that you will forgot about in a few months, at the same time lining microsofts pockets with more money that they don't need; also fueling the death of PC gaming and more and more titles are developed for the Xbox/360 first and then converted to PC (think halo, theif3, deusEX 2 - all ruined by microsofts console)

    or

    B) spend the same amount of money upgrading your multi-functional PC, giving you the ability to play more games with more people for less money (no xbox live subs etc etc) without contributing to the death of PC gaming or microsofts coffers

    no brainer really

    I went for 360...

I already have a very good PC that will playing anything (except doom3) max everything @ 1600x1200

Anyway i dont think its a good question? Will you pay £270 for xbox 360 with HDD that will play everything that looks good or will you spend that £270 on a GFX card that is already out of date and have no money left to upgrade any other part of the computer?

console for me. i just dont (personally) see the point in all that extra money that pc gaming costs - my ps2 was £300 5 years ago and still plays new releases - my pc has been replaced twice in that time at much higher cost. i'll take playability over graphics any day... i know the pc has different games, and more of an emphasis on tactical stuff, but it misses out on some crutial releases, and you cant easily get all yer mates round to play 4 player tennis on a 36" screen

that said, i'm actually waiting on the ps3 rather than the xbox 360. cba sorting out space in my rack for another console, so the ps2 will go and be replaced by the ps3

Xbox 360 my pc spec should last me for a while, but i still prefer most of my games to come on a joypad, except for FPS which is just about the only game i play on my PC.
