    DoD:Source Available...soon

    DoD: Source Beta Soon!
Day of Defeat: Source, Valve's World War II-themed multiplayer action game, is approaching beta and will be available early this spring via Steam.
Early this spring? i guess that means next spring, by valves standards?

    DoDage

    Sounds cool

i bet it will only be available to those who own HL2, which is a lot of people.....

im looking forward to this game, they have been very quiet about it thus far, does anyone know if it is a complete re-make, or just the shader affects added (e.g half life source)

    thoughts?

    Pete

Its the same as HL source, but DoD 2 is in the making (long term). It will only be available to download free for those that have the gold or silver packs HL2 packs. If you have bronze or have a non download version there will be a charge. Or thats how I read it.

It will be like HL:S in the sence that the maps are the same but it is more comparable to CS:S as the maps have been remade with improved textures aswell as the graphical effects and physics.

I (expect) the download charge will be around £10. Any more and it would start becoming unfair.

Cant wait for this, Love DoD and have done for years - this will be a nice upgrade to it (plus think of all the extra atmosphere they can add to a map using the source engine!)

You can upgrade from the bronze to the silver editions which gets dod source for very little money , far cheaper than buying dod:s seperatly.
