Yer it is possible, you can get a VGA box which you can use to connect to your monitor, but your looking at about £30 or so. I found some on eaby a few days ago, so there should be some about.
yeah seems a lot to pay, i just moved into a house with two mates and i put my big TV downstairs.... and my little tv does not have a scart connector... so can i get any other leads to use my PS2 on that tv?

there are three ways to do this.
number one is official support. Sony sell a VGA cable for ps2, but it only works with PS2 linux and Tekken 4. probably costs £20ish, but i've only seen them as part of the PS2 linux kit on www.linuxplay.com
number two is a cheap VGA box. hint: these look like utter ass, without exception. e.g. http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=search&adudisc=y

bobby i have one here which i have no use for now because i sold my ps2, u can have it for £15 if u want? It cost me £50 when i bought it so im sure its a good one, ill dig up a link.

I have heard news that there was supposed to be one of those 3rd party VGA boxes in stores soon, who it was made by i cant remember, and apparently they are supposed to be pretty good, wether or not this was a big rumour im not sure, but it might be worth checkin out.
4th option being a tv card/tv input on ut gfx card for ur comp
5th option is emulation (good for old games, ps2/xbox arnt emulated yet)
yet? you can only emulate last gen n64 games if you have at least 2 ghz of processing power - and that's only 94mhz. scale up to a system like the ps2, with its obscure & bizzare architecture, and a 10ghz p5 would be lucky
How hard would emulating an X-Box be though?
Architecturally, it is the closest thing to a PC (among all consoles).
Personally, I've heard bad things about VGA box (Option2). I'd like to see option 4 in action though.. I might invest in a TV turner sometime (I don't have a TV).
I dont know what the second option was, as the link does not work, but if you want the cheapest option, then try this from play.com (if it is not the same as option 2)

tv tuners are only 25 quid, thats with a remote and fm radio... i think thats at cpucity.co.uk (same one as i got, though i got it second hand - ive not got remote so if u buy one and dont need it, i want)
directhex - my 950 duron could emulate n64 games perfectly - for games that worked... had 256mb ram and v5500...
xbox and ps2 were designed to be hard to emulate... which isnt supprising considering how much harder they are to program in the first place!
the effort required to emulate these consoles without any documentation is a bigger hurdle imo, than processsing power required. amd 64 should be a much more suitable arcitecture for emulation, but thats gonna be a while.
with proper documentation i think ps2 games would run on something as low as 1ghz, as long as decent gfx card with full optimisations...
