That has to be concept art / dvd controller or a fake. No way could you play anything with that at all, doesnt even have analog control
Very odd. There have been rumours about it being a tilt control though. In saying that, it doesn't seem ergonomically designed enough to be a tilt controller, but you never know. Any idea what the actual dimensions are?
It's not a fake... Nintendo intend it to be sed as a laser pointer style thing... think along the lines of the grav gun in HL2 and you get the idea... you use the pointer to move stuff on the screen..
Maybe a decent FPS controller now? use the d-pad to move and just literally point and fire to kill the bad guys.
no its no fake,it was announced in the TGS last nite i think. its all over the net, check IGN or gamespy if u dont beleive it
Its crazy but it just might work. McGuyver stylee!
Not around too often!
I was going to get a revolution, after seeing that definately not now. Stick with the 360 when it arrives.
I've seen another shot, but it wa emailed to me, so you'll need to look around for it, but there's a wired 'pod' attached to the controller, which has an analogue stick on it.Originally Posted by jonneymendoza

Guys, I've grabbed loads more screenies, including one of the 'analogue joystick' from the Nintendo press release that just landed in my Inbox three minutes ago.
Check out HEXUS.gaming for the pics!
looks way to photoshopped... can't beleave it is real... hardly any buttons wtf. should of kept the cube controller me thinks...
you also missed out the fps controller thing shown in metroid...
Yeah, I'm gutted there's no touchscreen option or anything like that... but... if it's motion sensitive, perhaps it won't need anything like that.
A motion sensitive controller would be as good as mouse for FPS games, with the d-pad for moving your character's feet.
What I'm wondering though is how you'll be able to play Nintendo's back catalogue with this. The Revolution was touted as being backwardly compatible, through downloads, with Nintendo's entire back catalogue... The Revolution Controller just doesn't have enough buttons to be able to a play a Gamecube game... and the button positioning looks awkward for SNES games... so it could only be usable for NES games...
I'll reserve judgement until I try it.
It looks like it shouldn't work well, but Nintendo must be confident that it's worth the change.
righty then.
it's fully motion sensitive, with enough accuracy to use as something like a light gun.
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3143782 has some actual hands-on experience from using it, and it's almost entirely positive.
if it weren't for Nintendo, we'd all still have atari-style joysticks (they created the joypad for the NES).
if it weren't for Nintendo, we'd all still have buttons on the front of our pads (they created shoulder buttons for the SNES).
if it weren't for Nintendo, we'd all still have 8-way pads (they invented analog sticks for the N64).
if it weren't for Nintendo, consoles would still only have two-player options (N64, first console with 4 pad ports as standard)
so before we discredit nintendo's knowledge of controller design, step back & think for a bit

Folks we realy shouldn't knock this until we have tried it
