    Quake 4 Gone Gold

Anyone who guessed October 3rd in our Quake 4 Gold Pool is quite the clever Quaker, since that special moment we've been waiting for is finally here. id Software, Raven Software and Activision have confirmed that Quake 4 for the PC is GOLD and will begin shipping to retail stores nation-wide on Tuesday, October 18th! This much anticipated sequel to Quake II, enlists gamers in the role of Matthew Kane, a member of the Earth Defense Force's legendary Rhino Squad.

this is a crazy month for gaming,
    B&W2 this week
F.E.A.R on the 21st or something
    and Quake4 around 18th

does anyone know if the 18th is an international date or just the US, whens it likely to hit the shops in the UK?

I've just had to pre-order Black and White 2, COD2 and now Quake 4 aswell grrrr

why do game publishers insist on trying to make the most money by releaseing all the good games at this time of the year

Never played any Quake games , but the mulitplayer looks similar to UT2k4 which i really enjoy. Plus ive heard you can shoot through teleporters which sound really cool.

Just looking for the cheapest place to order it from. If youve found a good deal on it somewhere, please show me some love and post it below.

I was reading on Gamershell this morning that its getting an American release on the same day so thankfully it should hopefully quell the piracy side of things with no one having to wait for it from different parts of the world.

Going to pre order mine a bit later tonight after I get in from work, really looking forward to this. Didnt know it was anywhere near completion to be honest, influx of screenies a few months back then virtually all but quiet !

SOoometime woolworths sell new release stuff for the same price as the online shop. Might be £1 in it, got BF2 from them just to save the hastle and prefer to support highstreet retailers.
