    Any PSP owners in here?

    Hi ppl....

Just bought a psp two days ago and since then I can't stop playing it!! It literally got me hooked. I got just one game - Burnout Legends - and i'm so impressed with this little device's capabilities.

I'v been reading on other forums that you can also run homebrew apps on the psp which makes it even a greater device!! Has anyone of you tried running such apps? What games do you play?

I got mine imported from the the USA on release day, I havent run ony homebrew software, and I believe you have to have a early release of the psp software 1.50 or 1.52 to do so.

It is an excellent piece of kit, waiting for burnout to arrive, most looking forward to PES through.

    Cool, mine comes today!

Yeah to use homebrew etc. u need 1.50 firmware, if you have 2.0 you can downgrade.

if you down grade dont use "psp team" tool as it will brick your psp!

my e-friend puked after playing hi psp for 3 straight hours lol! playing burnout, thats the case i hear with the game, so dont play for long on end or you may puke over your carpet like he did!

I got one in may, from japan, its very nice, good for web browsing movies and obviously games. As far as i know the UK PSPs come with 1.52 and that 2.0 is on the disk that comes with it. 2.0 has a web browser and 1.52 does not. If you have wipeout then u can use that as a web browser but it is very limited. If downloading home made apps then be careful not to download the virus ones, all good PSP forums will steer you clear.

What homebrew apps are actually any use or worth having? Is it worth sacrificing the good web browser for?

I'm toying with the idea of spending more money on gadgets. I travel a *lot* and invariably spend the bulk of my working week living away from home in hotels. Hence, to while away the evenings, is the PSP really that good?

Would it make a good travelling companion on a plane, train in a hotel?

What's the battery life like. And, is my favourite game of all time, Gran Turismo out for it?

Or should I just install Dungeons and Dragons on my work laptop?

Gran Turismo isn't out, but I believe that it's coming out eventually.

Battery life depends on the game you're playing. I only really use mine for the commute to/from work, but I've yet to have any issues with the battery running dry.

I've taken mine on an 8 hour flight back from Canada and it kept me nicely entertaining inbetween the food and anything good on the inflight entertainment.

If you're looking for what's essentially a portable PS2, then it's the handheld for you.

I imported one from Hong Kong in May. Love it so much!! Ridge Racers is great fun and so is NBA street. for such a small thing the graphics are so good. i heard that it could have better graphics than a PS2, but Sony had to make the software limit the capabilities because it would run out of battery too quickly if it ran to its FULL capabilities. Does anyone know if this is true?
