The BBC to have a crack at a video game show

On November 4th 2005, the BBC enters the videogame show market for the first time since the days of the Acorn Electron with videoGaiden. Featuring the talents of the chaps behind the online hit Consolevania, videoGaiden is set to revolutionise the way that videogames are portrayed on television.

Check out HEXUS.gaming for more info.

    Eh?

10 Mins.... ouch even the green party got longer than that with their manifesto

What we need is a radical attempt at a show - not a 1/2 hearted "oh we'll dip our toes in the water" to make it mainstream.

Get Bruce Forsyth to host it as he's the king of catchphrases and audience participation and have the winners get a stupidly silly prize like a speedboat even though they probably live in Birmingham and are miles away from any water

Yeah, but how good is it?

What they should do is somehow create a crazy fusion of gamesmaster and the broken.

Tradeshow coverage is amazing. Interviews with developers are top notch. There are a few exclusives here and there that are pretty good (like the Id interview I referenced in the PC gaming v. consoles thread). Game reviews are lackluster (they spend the entire time trying to crack jokes and puns without going in depth or explaining their ratings).

Of course, G4 also shows reruns of The Man Show, which is entertaining. My favorite show is Attack of the Show. It is a hodgepodge geeky bliss. They talk about games, comics, wierd ebay auctions, DVDs, net news, etc. If you don't have it, you wish you did

    Hello
I liked Gamesworld on Sky One. You had surly teenagers trying to square up to Bob Mills every week, who tried to treat them like comedy club hecklers - it never goes down too well when you punch out a hormonal mouthy 15 year old! And you had David Walliams doing some pretty dodgy "comedy" sketches.
Gamesworld turned in to a show with Big Boy Barry - I hope the beeb don't emulate that!
"When Games Attack" on Bravo is pretty funny. Dom Diamond ruthlessly takes the rise out of everybody and I like the sadistic glove puppets.
Violet Berlin was good on Gamesmaster- a couple of the reasons why I got widescreen TV.
Don't forget Time Commanders - possibly the longest ever computer games commercial run on British television.
I don't really understand why the BBC News 24 programme "Click Online" doesn't do games already.
    cheers
    snedger

Any decent games show in the future must involve Patrick Moore.

    Fact.
