What do you guys think of those XGA boxes? (For Console to PC Monitor)

    Some links:

Sounds like a great idea, since TFTs for PCs are much cheaper than LCD TVs and appear to have way better image quality.

I've actually seen a Logitech version of one of these running through a 15" TFT and it was pretty cool, i think the display let it down though as it didn't handle scaling or fast action very well, but i hear you can get 17" 8ms displays now for £150

Also, I already have a great CRT TV for gaming but its pretty big for my room in halls so i put it in the common room and i'm thinking of an LCD for the room to save valuable desk space.

Can anyone think of any cons?

Great idea, I would much rather have my xbox sitting next to my Mac and not have to move to another room to play it

I have an x2vga 2 box, which adds HD upscaling to the xbox, as well as dolby digital and dts outputs.

    http://www.x2vga.com/

It's about £50 but works really well, hooked up to my tft. The tft won't display 720p properly though, and the sides are cut off a bit - it still works and is fully playable though.

Well worth it in my opinion.

I got an all-round xvga box a while back, few years now, and I must admit the can tend to have issue's displaying your games at 60hz. Luckily though seems to work fine for myself. Used it to play mario kart on the monitor and I have tried a few PS2 games on it to great success. I can't coment on the Xbox though as I don't own one.
